HEI (human environmental interaction)
HEI stands for Human Environmental Interaction. This means how the people of Paris treat their environment and what they do with it. Paris' major industries include steel, motor vehicles, aircraft, textiles, and food processing. They are well known for cheese, wine, milk, barley, and wheat. This has to do with HEI because they have to do certain things to the land to get these elements. For example, to get wheat, they have to harvest wheat through a machine, and that is interacting with the environment.
The current population of France is 66 million, and is increasing by about 5% every year. The most recently updated population of Paris that I know of is about 12 million. Over 75% of France's population is living in an urban are.
